G2 Crowd, the world's leading business software review platform, today released the Winter 2016 Web Conferencing Software GridSM report to help businesses make the best technology decision. Skype, GoToMeeting, Google Hangouts, Skype for Business (formerly Lync), WebEx, join.me and Adobe Connect were named Leaders in the report, receiving strong customer satisfaction scores with a large market presence. Additionally, FreeConferenceCall.com, ReadyTalk, Highfive, Onstream Webinars, AnyMeeting and Personify Live were named High Performers, earning strong customer satisfaction marks with smaller market presence scores. FreeConferenceCall.com earned the highest overall satisfaction score while Skype earned the highest overall Market Presence score.
The GridSM leverages customer satisfaction data reported by authenticated users along with vendor market presence determined from social and public data. Based on a combination of these scores, each software solution is categorized as a Leader, High Performer, Contender, or Niche.
Key Findings:
Web conference tools are valuable for businesses of all sizes. Overall, web conferencing software user reviews were very evenly distributed between small business (35%), mid-market (34%) and enterprise companies (30%).
More often than not reviewers across the board felt that the call quality feature in web conferencing software is poor. Surprisingly, there wasn't a single product where reviewers didn't note difficulties with their connection at one point or another. Bandwidth and internet strength often play a major role with these call quality issues.
Of note, Adobe Connect moved from Contender to Leader as its satisfaction score increased by 30 points and its market presence increased by five points. Additionally, FreeConferenceCall.com moved from Niche to High Performer as its satisfaction score increased by 70 points and its market presence increased by 27 points.
